March 05, 2004: Burnside are
offering a number of programmes during
2004, under the heading 'Working with
Men'. These include a 2-day standards
and practice workshop in May followed
by 3-day accredited training courses in
August and November.
Burnside is a NSW organisation affiliated
with the Uniting Church (Congregational,
Methodist and Presbyterian). They are
offering a discount off certain resources
including their "Working with Men
Kit" if picked up at the workshop.
The kit:
- assists organisations to appraise
their own policies and
practices about working with men,
- provides organisations with a basic
set of resources for the further development
of services for men (including fathers'
information booklets, set of 10 posters,
group leader manuals for both a general
fathers' group and a separated fathers'
group.), and
- contains a comprehensive report on
the operation of a UnitingCare Burnside
Fathers' Support Service in Western
Sydney, and journal articles about
developing 'leading edge' practice
for working with men.
